Hospital Surgery Fees

We do not give surgery costs out over the phone or by email. Our fees are quoted on a case-by-case basis after your initial consultation with the surgeon as each patient presents differently and each surgery varies from patient to patient. Please feel free to book an initial consultation to discuss this further.

Podiatric surgery costs include – surgeon fees, hospital fees, and anaesthetist fees.

Surgeon Fees – Costs of hospital-based surgery vary depending on the procedure/s required. During your initial consultation, you will be issued a written quote for your podiatric surgeon’s fees. Full payment for surgeon fees is required prior to surgery. Private health insurance rebates are available, and we recommend you consult your health fund to find out if you are covered and what your out-of-pocket costs will be. If podiatric surgery is included in your policy, your health fund will pay the amount available under your podiatry limit in your Extras cover. Patients who are self-funded will be required to cover all costs and will not be eligible for any rebates. There are no Medicare Rebates available for podiatric surgery, and we are not a gap-free provider.

Hospital Fees -Costs for day surgery hospital admission vary depending on the procedure/s required and the hospital facility we operate from. The hospital will bill you directly for any out-of-pocket costs incurred. Private health insurance rebates are available, and we recommend you consult your health fund to find out if you are covered and what your out-of-pocket costs will be. If podiatric surgery is included in your hospital policy, your health fund will pay the minimum default benefit towards hospital costs. Typically, if you have silver and above hospital cover, your insurer is required to pay towards your accommodation and prosthesis, but you will still need to check eligibility for theatre and consumable costs. Patients who have bronze or below hospital coverage may not be covered by any rebates for hospital fees.  Patients who are self-funded will be required to cover all costs and will not be eligible for any rebates.

Anaesthetist Fees – Costs for anaesthesia vary depending on the procedure/s required and the length of time your surgery takes. The anaesthetist will bill you directly for any out-of-pocket costs incurred. Private health insurance rebates are available, and we recommend you consult your health fund to find out if you are covered and what your out-of-pocket costs will be. If podiatric surgery is included in your policy, your health fund may pay a benefit towards these costs. Patients who are self-funded will be required to cover all costs and will not be eligible for any rebates.
